Horizons has a multi-tiered job application. To be a Horizons teacher, employees must meet Horizons standards (interviews, peer performance reviews) and State of Florida standards (extensive background checks, CPR-First Aid certification, and 10 hours of yearly continuing education classes). Responsibilities:

• Instruct preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth

• Create a fun and safe learning environment

• Develop and Follow schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents and coworkers

• Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress

• Maintain the health and safety of all students

Qualifications:

• CDA or Bachelors Required in related field

• First Aid & CPR certified

• 45 DCF mandated hours with the certificate of completion

• 2 years previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields

• Passionate about working with children

• Ability to build rapport with children

• Positive and patient demeanor

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
