Position Overview
Horizons Childcare and Learning Center is seeking a Lead Preschool Teacher to take full responsibility for an infant and toddler classroom.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident managing a classroom independently, creating structured learning environments, and guiding young children through critical developmental stages.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum aligned with Florida standards
- Lead and supervise assistant teachers and classroom aides
- Create a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment
- Monitor and assess children’s development and milestones
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians
- Maintain accurate classroom records and reports
- Ensure compliance with all licensing and safety requirements

This classroom may involve behavioral and instructional challenges.
Candidates must be comfortable handling real classroom dynamics and maintaining structure in an active learning environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year childcare experience (infant/toddler preferred)
- Experience leading a classroom
- Strong understanding of early childhood development
- CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass background checks
- Florida DCF training / VPK Certification (or equivalent)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move actively in classroom
- Lift children/materials when needed
- Stand and engage for extended periods
Compensation & Benefits
- $15–$16/hour
- Full-Time (Monday–Friday)
